Victoria Magazine September 1998

Even though summer usually extends to September in my corner of the PNW, I love the way it closes out the season. The grasses are a warm gold, the weather keeps you on your toes (don't unpack your sweaters yet), and there's little signs of autumn peeking through. For me fall really starts in October, so no pumpkins on the porch yet, but I do see apples on the trees and and some fallen leaves here and there. I think this ‘98 issue captures September perfectly, with the last days of summer mixed with a little fall flavor.

White tea china has always been so appealing, but maybe it's just that it feels like room service.

If you have a vegetable garden and you're not harvesting dressed like a land girl what's even the point.

Oh to be a woman with little tiny trinkets in little tiny drawers attaching them to tags. But I guess what's stopping us, right?

Dream garden right here. Enchanting yet nefarious.

I don't know what this photo set captures September so perfectly for me: the colors, the table in disarray, the wide brim hat hung up for the season, the calm from the hustle of summer. Or something that can't quite be put into words.
